Bernie Sanders promises a contested convention
Back in the beginning of April the Sanders campaign was openly talking about winning the nomination at a brokered convention, however the Senator from Vermont was dealt a severe blow last week when Hillary Clinton won four out of five primary contests, thusly breaking Bernie Sanders’s winning streak.
However these loses have not stopped Bernie Sanders from promising his supporters he will win the nomination at a brokered convention. Here is more:
Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders said Sunday that he will continue his challenge to front-runner Hillary Clinton even at the party’s convention in July.
“The convention will be a contested contest,” Sanders said at a Washington, D.C. press conference Sunday.
So how does he intend to contest the convention when Hillary Clinton appears to be on the verge of acquiring the necessary allotment of delegates to win the nomination before the convention?
It all revolves around the superdelegates:
As the campaign lingers on Hillary Clinton’s true racist feelings have been slowly coming to light. First a video of the Presidential hopeful surfaced from when she was the First Lady in which she called “at-risk youths” (which is a dog-whistle for black youths) “super-predators” and the government needed to “bring them to heel.” This rightfully angered #BlackLivesMatter, but that was only the beginning.
She then decided, for some strange reason, that it would be funny to do a racist skit with Bill de Blasio at the New York City Press Dinner. That did not go over well either needless to say. But now she is at it again, just last week she spewed racist hate speech when she said, “I have a lot of experience dealing with men who sometimes get off the reservation in the way they behave.”
Of course we all know what this comment means and where the comment originated from and this time she has angered, again rightfully so, Native Americans. Here is more:

Bernie Sanders withdraws his lawsuit against the DNC
Late last year some members of Bernie Sanders campaign allegedly illegally accessed Hillary Clinton’s campaign data. As a result of this infraction the Democratic National Committee suspended his campaign from gaining access to the party’s national voter database.
Needless to say Bernie Sanders played the victim card while ignoring his own alleged wrongdoing and threw a hissyfit, claiming the DNC was trying to rig the system for the former Secretary of State and he threatened to sue the Committee. Late last month Bernie Sanders finally made good on his threat but today, according to this story, he has withdrawn his lawsuit. Here is more:
Bernie Sanders’ campaign is withdrawing its lawsuit against the Democratic National Committee that alleged the party organization wrongly revoked the campaign’s access to its voter data file.
In its statement on Friday announcing the withdrawal, Sanders’ campaign also strongly maintained that it never deliberately stole information.
“The Sanders campaign never ‘stole’ any voter file data; the Sanders campaign never ‘exported’ any unauthorized voter file data; and the Sanders campaign certainly never had access to the Clinton campaign’s ‘strategic road map,’ the Sanders campaign said.
I have come up with three scenarios which could possibly explain why Bernie Sanders suddenly decided not to sue the DNC: he was nothing but controlled opposition all along, he knows he cannot win the race and is trying to bring the party together, or he knows his campaign is guilty and he is afraid it will come to light if he continued the lawsuit.
Peter King on John Boehner calling Ted Cruz Lucifer: ‘Maybe he gives Lucifer a bad name’
Yesterday John Boehner let us know exactly how he felt about the man who is partly responsible for bringing about the former House Speaker’s downfall, Ted Cruz, when he called the Texas Senator “Lucifer in the flesh.”
It was then Peter King’s turn to chime in when he was asked about John Boehner’s comments, here is what he had to say:
“Maybe he gives Lucifer a bad name by comparing him to Ted Cruz,” King said. “Listen, what John Boehner was most concerned about was Ted Cruz perpetrated a fraud and a hoax when he brought about the shutdown of the government on some kind of a vague promise that he was gonna be able to take Obamacare out of the budget or to end Obamacare.”
He took it to the next level by saying John Boehner was giving Lucifer a bad name by comparing him to Ted Cruz. But then he let us in on why the establishment hates Ted Cruz so much and that is because Ted Cruz actually took action to defund Obamacare, however inadequate it turned out to be, and the establishment had no interest in defunding the program because it felt Obamacare was a great campaign issue and if it was defunded they could not run on defunding it any more. The establishment chose words over actions while Ted Cruz tried to put his words into action and they still have not forgiven him for it.
As much as establishment Republicans such as John Boehner and Peter King (who said he might take cyanide if Ted Cruz is the nominee) do not like Donald Trump they have reserved this type of rhetoric for Ted Cruz and I think that tells us something about the Texas Senator that got lost when the billionaire businessman hijacked the anti-establishment train.

John Boehner calls Ted Cruz ‘Lucifer in the flesh’
Former House Speaker John Boehner, who resigned when he realized he could not snuff out the conservative movement brewing within the Republican party, had some interesting things to say when asked about Ted Cruz. He went as far as calling the Texas Senator “Lucifer in the flesh.”

“Lucifer in the flesh,” Boehner told an audience at Stanford University on Wednesday night, according to the Stanford Daily. “I have Democrat friends and Republican friends. I get along with almost everyone, but I have never worked with a more miserable son of a bitch in my life.”
Have another drink John and calm down.
Ted Cruz names Carly Fiorina as his running mate
After yesterday’s disastrous performance in the Northeast primaries Ted Cruz today announced that he has selected Carly Fiorina as his running mate in the event he manages to win the Republican nomination. Here is part of what he had to say:
“After a great deal of consideration and prayer, I have come to the conclusion that if I am nominated to be president of the United States that I will run on a ticket with my vice presidential nominee Carly Fiorina.”
The Senator from Texas has suffered several defeats in a row now, in some cases finishing a distant third behind John Kasich so it is clear this unusual move was designed to give him a boost in the upcoming contests and possibly save his struggling campaign. Donald Trump clearly has the momentum now and this is a last-ditch attempt to slow Donald Trump down.
Ted Cruz was mathematically eliminated from gaining the 1,237 delegates needed before the convention to secure the nomination so at this point his only legitimate goal is stopping Donald Trump from getting to that number as well in the hope he can win the nomination on the second ballot. In other words, he is just trying to stay close to Donald Trump and defeat John Kasich.
Ted Cruz probably hoped this move would make him appear bold but personally I feel it only makes him look desperate and I think the voters in the upcoming contests will come to the same conclusion.

Donald Trump wins Delaware and Rhode Island primaries
Well, it did not take long tonight: Donald Trump has now swept the five primaries which were held tonight. CNN had already projected the billionaire businessman to win Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Connecticut and now he has been projected to win Delaware and Rhode Island as well.
The early calling of all these races make it a resounding victory for Donald Trump as the race now heads out west. Donald Trump was expected to win all these contests so it is not surprising but I had hoped to have seen a little competition from the only semi-conservative in the race, but it is the Northeast after all.

It looks as though this is going to be a big night for Donald Trump: the polls have just closed and already CNN has projected the billionaire businessman to win Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Connecticut without any official results having come in. This of course means that these races were not even close and the only questions are, how big will these victories be and who will finish in second place?
If, as expected, Donald Trump wins Delaware and Rhode Island he will have some serious momentum heading into the contests which are considered to be less friendly (because they are less liberal) and it could provide him with a bump in the polls in the upcoming contests. Despite the Republican establishment’s best efforts to stop him the nomination of Donald Trump appears at this point to be unstoppable.
In the early results Ted Cruz is in third place far behind John Kasich, who is a distant second to Donald Trump in both Connecticut and Rhode Island. As good as this night is shaping up for Donald Trump it appears to be equally disastrous for Ted Cruz. It is still early of course but I do not see much changing…

The State Departments admits withholding a key Benghazi email from Judicial Watch in 2014
Judicial Watch has done some great work in trying to uncover what really happened in Benghazi, much better work than the Congress has done in fact, and unlike the Congress they are still fighting the battle. As you know Judicial Watch sued the State Department through a FOIA request for all documents related to the Benghazi scandal. Although the agency previously claimed it had turned over all relevant documents the State Department has now admitted it found a document related to Benghazi back in 2014 but withheld it from Judicial Watch.
