Kathleen Sebelius violated the Hatch Act and should be fired
Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius recently endorsed Barack Obama. This of course is not surprising in the least and in fact it would normally only be news if she had decided not to endorse her boss, but there is a problem: Kathleen Sebelius endorsed Barack Obama while speaking at a taxpayer funded event while speaking in her official role as head of the HHS, and that is a crime because it is a violation of the Hatch Act which was passed in 1939.
The Hatch Act prohibits federal employees from using their official authority or influence to affect the outcome of an election,” Lerner wrote to the president. “A federal employee is permitted to make partisan remarks when speaking in their personal capacity, but not when using an official title or when speaking about agency business

Open thread for Wednesday September 12th
Another Wednesday and another rush out the door on my way to work early forgetting to put up the open thread before I left so here it is. Because I have been working more hours I haven’t been able to comment as much on the blogs I visit daily although I am still trying to read all the fine articles, my apologies.
I had a scary moment last night after updating my post entitled ‘The Middle East burns as Nero fiddles.’ (This post has been greatly overshadowed by my second post last night, so please check it out if you haven’t already.) After the update WordPress suspended America’s Watchtower for about five minutes. Apparently by adding those extra links the blog was automatically flagged as spam and suspended–there are quite a few links in that post. I was so upset I was shaking as I saw almost six years of my work gone and not sure if or even when it would come back. I contacted WordPress and they immediately rectified the problem, so I would like to thank WordPress for their quick action on this issue.

The United States apologizes after Muslims attack the US embassy in Egypt on the anniversary of September 11th
Correction: I reported in this post that the US ambassador to Egypt was killed last night in the riots, when in fact it was the US ambassador to Libya who was killed. I regret the mistake and apologize.
As I wrote about in this post, earlier today Egyptian protesters stormed the US embassy in Cairo, tore down and burned the United States flag, and attempted to raise a black flag which is usually associated with Islamic terrorists over the embassy because they were upset with an American made anti-Muslim movie and thought this movie should be banned. And in case you didn’t notice, this just happens to be the anniversary of the terrorists’ greatest attack on America.
Nobody seems to know what movie these people were protesting, or if this movie even exists other than in the minds of the protesters. That doesn’t matter, when you are attacked a response is needed and after the attack the US embassy in Cairo released this statement:
The U.S. Embassy said in a statement that it “condemns the continuing efforts by misguided individuals to hurt the religious feelings of Muslims — as we condemn efforts to offend believers of all religions.”
“Respect for religious beliefs is a cornerstone of American democracy,” the statement read. “We firmly reject the actions by those who abuse the universal right of free speech to hurt the religious beliefs of others.”
After the attack the US embassy had a condemnation alright, only they didn’t condemn those who carried out this attack, the US embassy condemned the American people who they claim are trying to hurt the feelings of Muslims and stated that some Americans were abusing their right of free speech. Again, nobody even knows what movie–if any–these protesters were supposedly offended by, but that didn’t stop the politically correct officials at the US embassy from placing the blame for these attacks on the American people while removing all guilt from those who carried out the attack.
Most likely Barack Obama approved this message–that is if he decided to listen to a briefing on it–so once again he has bowed to those who would do us harm and has apologized for America when it is America who should be demanding an apology. Egypt should be condemning the actions of her citizens, not the other way around.
The Middle East burns as Nero fiddles
Normally I do not post on September 11th but today has been an eventful day in the Middle East and while Barack Obama seems content to ignore these stories, I would be remiss to do the same so here goes:
We are all familiar with the story of Nero who supposedly fiddled while Rome burned, well it looks like Barack Obama is fiddling as the Middle East burns.
When the freedom fighters in Iran stood up in 2009 and begged Barack Obama to do something to help them he did nothing, he fiddled. Shortly thereafter began the Arab Spring which was touted by the mainstream media and the Obama regime as a wonderful event which all started because of Barack Obama’s Cairo speech. These revolutions had the blessing of the Obama regime as he silently pushed for the ouster of foreign leaders.
This was the speech, we were told, that started a glorious revolution which would lead to a free democracy in several Middle Eastern countries and was proof that Barack Obama’s bowing to foreign leaders and apologizing for America’s past sins was better than President Bush’s heavy handed, no compromise policy. However, what the media saw as Barack Obama’s greatest foreign policy strength the Middle East saw as weakness and it wasn’t long before the Middle East began to take advantage of Barack Obama.

Barack Obama to implement Paul Ryan’s Medicare plan through the Department of Health and Human Services
I first heard about this story over at Political Realities: It appears as if Barack Obama has directed the Department of Health and Human Services to implement a pilot program similar to Paul Ryan’s Medicare plan with one difference. While Paul Ryan’s plan is voluntary and nothing would change for seniors in regard to Medicare unless they personally decided to opt out of Medicare, Barack Obama’s plan would automatically privatize Medicare in states that decide to participate in this program and seniors would then have to opt out of the program or they would be automatically enrolled. Barack Obama is doing precisely what he falsely claimed Paul Ryan was trying to do.
Since Paul Ryan first introduced his budget plan the Democrats in general and Barack Obama in particular have been hammering him and attempting to scare seniors, going so far as to release a video which showed him pushing granny off a cliff. All the while neglecting to make mention of the fact that Paul Ryan’s Medicare plan was voluntary and nobody’s Medicare coverage would change unless they decided to change it.
Is it any wonder that so many Americans no longer believe a single word to come out of Barack Obama’s mouth? The man is a master of doing one thing while saying another and this is just the latest in a long line of examples. Massachusetts State Senator retracts her support for Elizabeth Warren’s Native American claims
During an interview on MSNBC back in May Massachusetts State Senator Katherine Clark was asked about Elizabeth Warren’s false claim that she was a Native American, at that time she defended the wannabe Indian with the high cheekbones to prove it. This is what Senator Clark had to say during that interview:
Elizabeth Warren has been very clear: This is what she was taught from the time she was a small girl that she has Native American relatives and it’s been demonstrated by some of the research that’s been done that, in fact, there are records that support that claim
We know now that there were no records, only family lore and a note in a family member’s journal which Elizabeth Warren used as the proof of her heritage, all the while using affirmative action to get ahead in life while cutting in front of real Native Americans who quite possibly could have used a break. Elizabeth Warren used her fake ancestry to rise up to the very pinnacle of success as she stood on stage at the DNC and delivered a speech designed to win her enough support in Massachusetts to unseat Scott Brown and turn the “People’s Seat” back into the “Elitist’s Seat.”
While the leaders of the Democrat party don’t seem to have a problem with her deception, and still thought she deserved a spot at the DNC, Senator Clark can no longer support or defend Elizabeth Warren’s Native American claim; earlier this week she retracted her statement about there being proof of Elizabeth Warren’s false claim:
I am telling you frankly that I thought there was a marriage certificate at the time. I was wrong
I believe Senator Clark; she claims that the interview she conducted turned to the issue of Elizabeth Warren and she didn’t expect it and wasn’t prepared for it. She gave an honest answer, she really did believe Elizabeth Warren must have proof of her claim. And why wouldn’t she believe it? What type of person, who is clearly white, would lie about her heritage to get ahead in life and then when caught double down and continue lying right up to the point of saying she would be Massachusetts first Native American senator? She couldn’t have believed Elizabeth Warren was this deceitful at the time, but I think she knows it now.

Democrats run from Obamacare during 2012 election cycle
When Barack Obama took to the stage at the DNC and delivered what most political pundits deemed a flat, failure of a speech it was quite interesting to note that Barack Obama didn’t even mention Obamacare. This is what the Democrats consider to be his signature legislation, his crowning achievement, because he succeeded where the immortal Bill Clinton failed, and yet he didn’t think it was even worthy of a mention.
In fact–with the exception of Boston Mayor Tom Menino, who mentioned Romneycare only to attack Mitt Romney–healthcare reform wasn’t really mentioned during the Democrat convention. This point can’t be emphasized enough; this was the legislation Barack Obama was supposed to be most proud of, to quote Joe Biden it was a big fucking deal, and yet nary a word about it during the convention. Open thread for Saturday September 8: God is in the platform edition
Here is your open thread for Saturday, September 8th. I am posting it a little early because I am not sure I will have time to post it tomorrow before I head to work. Feel free to post links to interesting articles and discuss whatever issues may arise during the course of the day.
With the God is in the platform debacle from the DNC this past week I thought I would share three songs about Christianity from Nick Cave. The first is self explanatory and is called ‘There is a Kingdom.’
Here it is:
The second song is entitled ‘Hallelujah’ and in this song Nick Cave sings about giving his nurse the weekend off. After making this decision he is unable to function and decides to take a walk. While on this walk he comes to a house where “all hopes and dreams are kept within” and a young lady tempts him to enter the house. Nick Cave realizes his nurse would not approve and heads home singing Hallelujah. I believe the nurse is a metaphor for God and the house represents temptation, in the end Nick Cave resists temptation and returns to his nurse. Here it is, what do you think about my interpretation:
This last song is THE Nick Cave song and it is called ‘The Mercy Seat’ and it is about a man on death row for apparently committing murder. While on death row he begins to learn about Jesus and while he maintains his innocence the song alternates between what he is learning and his past. As the song continues it become apparent that the subject is indeed guilty although he tries to separate himself from the crime by declaring he has a “good hand” and an “evil hand” yet he keeps coming back to what he is learning about God on death row.
As the story continues the subject begins to compare the Mercy Seat in heaven to what he now sees as the mercy seat on earth–the electric chair–and while it becomes apparent through the song that he is guilty he still claims he is innocent and is not afraid to die until he finally climbs into the mercy seat. At this point he confesses he has been lying and the song ends leaving us to wonder about his fate in death.
